Pete Nance Commits to UNC, Completes 2022-23 Roster

Early on Saturday afternoon, North Carolina added the final piece to its 2022-23 roster in the form of Northwestern transfer big man Pete Nance. At 6-foot-11, 218-pounds, Nance is coming off the best season of his career. As a senior for the Wildcats in 2021-22, he averaged 14.6 points, 6.5 rebounds, with 2.7 assists and 1.1 blocks, while hitting 45.2% of his three-point attempts, en route to honorable mention All-Big Ten honors.

Nance visited UNC on Wednesday and left town on Friday then made his commitment to the Tar Heels public on Saturday. Nance will complement a stacked Carolina roster that already features All-ACC big man Armando Bacot in the front court along with versatile forwards Puff Johnson spirit Dontrez Styles. North Carolina also returns starters RJ Davis, Caleb Loveand Leaky Black.

Following the commitment Inside Carolina’s Coast to Coast podcast crew of host Joey Powell and analysts Sherrell McMillan and Sean Moran convened for an emergency commitment podcast. The trio discussed the path for Nance’s commitment, analysis of his game, his fit in UNC’s roster, the benefit of experience, and Carolina’s now set and loaded roster.
